EXACT Release: February 2025

February has brought another round of updates, improvements, and fixes to EXACT, ensuring a smoother experience for your practice. From a refined email verification process to enhancements in NHS estimates and key bug fixes, we’ve been working hard to make your daily workflows more efficient.

This month, we’re also giving you a sneak peek at upcoming improvements to laboratory work functionality—designed to streamline your processes even further.

User updates

Improvements to the email verification process have been introduced with a new verify email option in the contact details within user settings. A simple checkmark or cross next to the email address shows the verification status.

Bug fixes

Some of the issues resolved this month include;

🐜 Dragging appointments with multiple services without short notice list time was causing unnecessary coordinated duties blocks to be added.
🐜 Family appointments disappearing from the appointment book on the day of the appointment – this only affected family appointments created via the create next appointment option when copying to the clipboard to edit and create a future family appointment.
🐜 The image scanning app was not displaying names correctly in the contacts tab, ignoring any characters after a space, eg. Sarah A would display as Sarah.
🐜 Exiting a task using the close option (x button) was not saving updates to notes.

Coming soon - Laboratory work

The laboratory pop-up has been simplified with elements removed and redesigned to improve functionality;

📄 The 'expected date' has been removed.
📄 The 'cost fields' have been removed.
📄 'Laboratory code' is a simple drop-down menu. 

In addition to these changes, the pop-up window will not show if; 

📄 The specialist list contains no labs.
📄 The specialist list contains only one lab – this will be used as the default lab.
📄 The user has enabled the new ‘Hide Labwork Popup’ setting in User Setting.

All the updates and content in this blog have been implemented in EXACT V25.21 to V25.25.
